Talbir Singh Gill is an Indian politician from Punjab who belongs to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He started his political career with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) party and switched to the Aam Aadmi Party in 2024. In January 2026, Talbir Singh Gill was nominated as the candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party for the Majitha constituency of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 2027.
Talbir Singh Gill comes from the family of Harjit Singh and is born in Punjab. Professionally, he is an agriculturist. He declares himself as a graduate of Senior Secondary (12th Class) level from Punjab School Education Board (PSEB).
Gill Talbir Singh had started his political career with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) wherein he had played different organizational roles and later on become in charge of the party constituency for Amritsar South. In the Punjab Legislative Assembly election held in 2022, Gill contested from the Amritsar South constituency as a candidate of SAD, and was however beaten by Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Gill had managed to get 25,550 votes, whereas Nijjar got 53,053 votes.
Gill joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on 4 May 2024. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann named Gill as a candidate of the party for Majitha Assembly constituency for the 2027 Punjab Legislative Assembly election in January 2026.
Talbir Singh Gill has concentrated on problems relating to regional development and public welfare in Majitha. Since becoming a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, he has been supporting projects that can help in better governance of the region, as well as raising the problems of its inhabitants.
Talbir Singh Gill is the son of Harjit Singh. From his 2022 affidavit for elections, his occupation has been stated as agriculturist, whereas his wife has been mentioned as housewife. Moreover, he has also been linked with socio-religious groups in Punjab, like Damdami Taksal. From his 2022 affidavit for elections, his assets have been declared at about ₹8.74 crore and liabilities at about ₹24.72 lakh.
According to his affidavit for the 2022 elections, Talbir Singh Gill is facing two criminal cases which are still pending. He is yet to be convicted in both the criminal cases as per the affidavit lodged with the Election Commission of India.
