Dr. Nachhatar Pal

Dr. Nachhatar Pal is an Indian politician from Punjab. Currently a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), he has served as former general secretary of the party’s Punjab state unit. 

Body text: Dr. Nachhatar Pal is an Indian politician serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Nawan Shahr (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) constituency in Punjab. He represents the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Early life and education

Dr. Nachhatar was born in Nawan Shahr, Punjab. He passed 12th grade from Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) in 1993, and holds a Diploma in Pharmacy from Punjab Technical Education Board.

Political career

Dr. Nachhatar Pal is a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). He has served as General Secretary of BSP Punjab.

He was elected as MLA from Nawan Shahr constituency in the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly elections.

In the Punjab Legislative Assembly, he served as a member of the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes. He also served as a member of the Committee on Petitions.

Electoral history

In the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections from Nawan Shahr constituency, Dr. Nachhatar Pal (BSP) won with 37,031 votes (30.05% vote share), defeating the nearest rival by a margin of 5,376 votes.

Dr. Nachhatar is the incumbent member of the legislative assembly (MLA) from the Nawan Shahr constituency in Punjab, elected in 2022. Previously, he was appointed as General Secretary of Bahujan Samaj Party’s Punjab state unit.
