Narendra Modi was born into a modest Gujarati family of grocers on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat. In his childhood, he helped his father sell tea at the Vadnagar railway station and later ran a tea stall with his brother.

He completed his higher secondary education in Vadnagar in 1967, later graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Delhi University in 1978, and earning a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Political Science from Gujarat University in 1983.Deeply patriotic from his youth,

Modi was introduced to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of eight and became a full-time campaigner in 1971. The RSS assigned him to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 1985, where he worked extensively at the grassroots level to build the party’s organizational network across Gujarat during the 1980s and 1990s.

He steadily rose through the party ranks, serving as the National Secretary and General Secretary of the BJP.In October 2001, he was appointed as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He served in this role for over a decade, winning four consecutive state assembly elections and building a reputation for infrastructure development and economic growth.Riding on a wave of anti-corruption sentiments and a promise of good governance, Modi led the BJP to a historic landslide victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, becoming the first Prime Minister born in independent India.

He secured an even larger mandate in the 2019 general elections. In June 2024, following the alliance results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections where he won his seat from Varanasi, Narendra Modi was sworn in for a third consecutive term as the Prime Minister of India, a historic feat previously achieved only by Jawaharlal Nehru.
