Sukhwinder Singh Kotli

Sukhwinder Singh Kotli is an Indian Politician and currently the Member of Punjab Legislative Assembly representing Adampur (SC) constituency, in Punjab Vidhan Sabha in Jalandhar district. He is associated with Indian National Congress (INC). He is the key Dalit face in Doaba region, with a long political journey. He held a lot of state level party responsibilities.

Early Life and Education

Sukhwinder completed his secondary education from Government High School, Kotli Than Singh, PSEB in 1981 as per his affidavit. 

Political Career

In 2022, elections Kotli secured 39,554 votes, defeating Pawan Kumar Tin of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), who won 34,987 votes.

Personal Information

His father Tara Singh who was a close ally of Kanshi Ram, the legendary founder of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). He owns a business and also earns out of rental  and her spouse is a homemaker. 

His total estimated asset is Rs. 37 Lakhs and Liabilities of Rs. 18,894.

Controversy

He do not hold any criminal cases on him rather the controversy was around during the Punjab Assembly after CM Bhagwant Mann allegedly made a “Seizure” remark directed at Congress MLA Sukhwinder Singh during an argument related to Dalit representative and the demand was for Dalit Deputy Chief Minister which was promised in Jalandhar.
